The Heart and Soul Nebulae

Captured under Bortle 3 skies during the new moon, approximately seven hours of exposure reveal the glowing clouds and dark dust structures of this region in a blue-and-gold SHO palette. Narrowband sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen data form the nebula image, with broadband RGB data used exclusively for the stars.

Equipment and processing:
• Telescope: Takahashi FSQ-106EDX4
• Mount: ZWO AM7
• Camera: ZWO ASI461MM medium-format monochrome
• Filters: Chroma 3 nm narrowband square filters
• Guiding: William Optics 50 mm guide scope with a ZWO ASI290MM
• Acquisition control: ZWO ASIAIR
• Total integration: Approximately 7 hours
• Conditions: Bortle 3 skies, new moon
• Processing: PixInsight and Photoshop

Explorer of the cosmos, one photon at a time. I capture the universe with a collection of about 12 telescopes, including the SCA310, Astro-Physics 155 EDF Starfire, TEC 180FL, and Takahashi Epsilon 160ED, and my beloved FSQ-106EDX4. Paired with advanced imaging systems - including the medium-format ZWO ASI461MM and ASI6200MM Pro with Chroma filters - these precision instruments help me reveal the faint structures, rich colors, and extraordinary detail hidden in the night sky.
