The surprising Seestar S50 Pro compare to Takahashi FSQ-106EDX4

Because apparently I enjoy putting $900 telescopes into fights they absolutely did not ask for...

Here’s a GIF comparison of the final Photoshop version from the Seestar S50 Pro layered over my version from the Takahashi FSQ-106EDX4 with an ASI6200MM and Chroma filters.

Is it a fair comparison? Absolutely not. 😂 Zoom in and the Takahashi/6200MM rig politely reminds the Seestar that it costs about as much as one of its adapters.

But that’s really the point.

For someone who just wants to explore the cosmos, point at something in the sky, press a few buttons and start producing images at this level without learning mono imaging, filter wheels, guiding, calibration frames, PixInsight and seventeen new swear words... what the S50 Pro can do is astonishing.

It’s not trying to beat the Takahashi.

It’s trying to get people into the game.

And at that, it’s ridiculously good.
