Why ScopeTrader Allows Humor, GIFs, and Real Conversation in Astronomy Discussions Cloudy Nights has helped people get into astronomy. But it is fair to say that its moderation culture has frustrated plenty of people, too. And it's getting worse. Public discussions describe removed posts, sudden bans, vendor-experience threads being locked, and a general feeling that rules can sometimes be enforced more aggressively than common sense.
