Hey all,
I am in the market for a compact smart telescope to take on trips and camping separate from my primary rig. I go camping quite frequently, typically in more remote sites and sometimes in the back country, so I would like to take advantage of the opportunities I am missing out on without having to lug around 25+ lbs of gear.
I have used the S50 and I was reasonably impressed with the ease and portability of the setup, but I am excited by the improved sensor on the S30 Pro. The Vaonis Vespera II has the same sensor, but also has a 50mm aperture, which is something to potentially consider. Yes, I know the Vespera Pro has an improved sensor beyond that, but at almost twice the price as the Vespera II, it didn't seem to be a fair comparison.
I do plan on processing the subs myself, but there is definitely an allure to the instant gratification of seeing results right away, even if they aren't as good as what they will be after actual processing.
I'd love to get thoughts, opinions, and callouts from the community.
Thanks in advance
