Dear fellow astronomers and gear heads,

We are beyond excited (and slightly out of breath) to finally introduce the inaugural issue of ScopeTrader, a project 20 years in the making! Yes, you read that right – two decades of dreaming, planning, and more starry nights than we can count have brought us here. So, buckle up your telescopes and join us on this cosmic journey!

Highlights in This Issue:

Telescopes: From budget-friendly setups starting at $100 to high-end rigs hitting the $10,000 mark, we've got your astrophotography needs covered. Discover the new Wave 100i and 150i harmonic drive mounts from Sky-Watcher, the impressive BRESSER Messier 12-inch Dobsonian telescope, and our unboxing showdown between the ZWO AM3 and AM5 mounts. And don't miss the breathtaking capture of the M51 Whirlpool galaxy by the Sky-Watcher Quattro 300P!

Astrophotography: Get the scoop on advanced techniques like Lucky Imaging to snap M51 in vivid detail. Follow Cuiv the Lazy Geek's tips on banishing star spikes, and learn how to photograph comet PanSTARRS alongside Sh2-112 and Sh2-115. Plus, marvel at Pasquale Panuzzo’s discovery of the Gaia BH3 black hole and the stunning SN2024ggi supernova, thanks to the TS ONTC 8-inch telescope.

Cameras: We dive deep into the ZWO ASI533MC Pro DSO camera, a top pick among deep-sky photographers.

Events: Plan your stargazing calendar with our guides to the Almost Heaven Star Party, Nebraska Star Party, Cherry Springs Star Party, Adirondack Astronomy Retreat, Pennyrile StarGaze, ALCon 2024, Oregon Star Party, Star Stuff 2024, and many more.

Accessories and Software: Check out the latest and greatest in mounts, finder scopes, software tools, and essential accessories for your astronomical adventures.

ScopeTrader is here to be your go-to resource for all things astronomy. Each issue will bring you detailed articles, reviews, and tips to enhance your stargazing experience. Join us in celebrating the wonders of the universe and remember, the sky's not the limit – it's just the beginning!
