Updates to Polar Scope Align Pro & Xasteria: Enhanced solar eclipse simulation and tracking, improved celestial calculations, visibility details from your location, iOS 17.4 compatibility, and tons more.
The latest updates for the Polar Scope Align Pro and Xasteria apps on iOS bring exciting new features for astronomy enthusiasts. Users can now easily find and simulate any solar eclipse, with the added ability to see eclipses as they will appear from their location. The updates include improved celestial body calculations, enhanced weather forecast integration for eclipse days, and fixes for iOS 17.4 devices, ensuring a seamless experience for tracking and observing celestial events.
Polar Scope Align Pro v6.7 updates:
- Solar Eclipse Calculator (“other” category in the calculator's list). Find and Simulate any Solar Eclipse of the past or future.
- New tool in Xasteria: Click the solar eclipse button below the weather view for a list of solar eclipses as they will be visible from your location. (Pro)
- On the Xasteria weather forecast, the solar eclipse type and time of maximum will be displayed in place of the moon phase on eclipse days. (Pro)
- Solar eclipse details are shown on the lunar calendar under eclipse days. (Pro)
- Sun / Moon location calculation improved in the DSO DB. (Pro)
- Fixed barometer for iOS 17.4 devices (requires Motion & Fitness permissions). (Pro)
- Eq. Coord - Alt Az calculator auto-updates if the app time is on auto. (Pro)
- Disable display sleep setting was also added to daytime alignment and bubble level tool settings (but applies across the app). (Pro)
- Apply/Tab buttons added to calculator keyboards.
Xasteria Plus 4.7 astro weather updates:
- Solar Eclipses tool (new button under the weather forecast). Shows a list of future solar eclipses from your location. (Plus)
- Solar Eclipse Simulator (available from the Solar Eclipses tool) - lets you explore any eclipse with a simple slider to control time. (Plus)
- On the weather forecast, the solar eclipse type and time of maximum will be displayed in place of the moon phase on eclipse days.
- Solar eclipse details are shown on the lunar calendar under eclipse days. (Plus)
- Fixed barometer for iOS 17.4 devices (requires Motion & Fitness permissions). (Plus)
- Apply/Tab buttons were added to the keyboard when editing coordinates.
