Live planetary stacking included in SharpCap 4.1

Earlier this year, SharpCap 4.1 transitioned from beta, introducing an exciting addition in its latest version update.

SharpCap 4.1, a user-friendly and robust astronomy camera capture tool, is compatible with dedicated astronomy cameras, solar cameras, webcams, and USB frame grabbers. Planetary Live Stacking in SharpCap 4.1

The noteworthy enhancement in SharpCap 4.1 is the incorporation of Planetary Live Stacking. Traditionally, planetary imaging involved a multi-step process: capturing videos with thousands of frames, processing these videos through a preferred stacking program, and potentially refining the resulting image in another application for sharpening. The latest SharpCap 4.1 update (version 4.1.11351.0) introduces a groundbreaking feature—live planetary stacking. This allows users to stack and wavelet sharpen their planetary images in real-time within SharpCap while actively capturing. Although the quality may not match that of using a separate stacking program post-capture, the results are impressive, making it ideal for outreach, live broadcasts, and more.
