The 2025 astrophotography prize results reveal extraordinary cosmic photography, highlighting the year’s most innovative stargazers and their stunning captures of the universe.

The results of the 2025 Astrophotography Prize are in, and this year’s competition has once again highlighted the extraordinary talent and dedication of photographers who turn their lenses skyward. From sweeping landscapes of the Milky Way to finely detailed captures of distant galaxies and planets, the winning entries showcase not only technical mastery but also a shared sense of wonder at our place in the cosmos. The awards celebrate both seasoned astrophotographers and rising stars, with prizes spanning state-of-the-art telescopes, imaging gear, and observatory tools. This year’s winners hail from around the globe, underscoring the universal passion for exploring and documenting the night sky.

Ani Shastry (USA) is the overall winner of the Competition, the Remote Imaging Category and is the 2025 Astrophotographer of the Year! Ani has won a CELESTRON EdgeHD 9.25" OTA and a year's subscription to Deep Sky West!

Alessandro Ravagnin (Italy) took out the Celestron Prize and the Solar System Category. Alessandro has won a CELESTRON Origin Intelligent home observatory and a QHY Planetary camera from Sidereal!

Matteo won both the Astro Landscape Category and the Runner-up prize as well, an amazing achievement! Matteo has won the Samyang/Moveshoot Move bundle from Sidereal.

Paul's Image, the Southern Cross Aflame taken with modest equipment, is the deserving winner of the Deep Space Category. Paul has won a voucher towards a filter set from Chroma
