This is a Moon Coin Collector Set. It includes a bronze coin in the shape of the lunar surface, a revolving acrylic display stand, a display label, and an NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander enamel pin. This is an interesting and eye-catching way to showcase this unusual and exotic piece of space memorabilia.

This set includes the following items :

1) COIN : The coin is a heavy metal coin etched with the mare and craters of the Moon's surface. It has an antiqued bronze finish and measures 4cm in diameter (1.57 inches) and is approx. 2.5mm thick. It has nice heft and feel to it. Affixed to one side of the coin is a fragment of the Laayoune 002 Moon Rock (lunar feldspathic breccia) that weighs approx. .011g (11mg).

2) DISPLAY : The acrylic display holder measures 6.35cm square (approx. 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches) and can be displayed with or without the included easel. The center portion of the holder that contains the coin measures 1.57 inches in diameter. The center holder revolves 360-degrees to show every angle of the coin. It is a clever and attractive way to display this unique collectible

3) LABEL : The black and white label is printed on sturdy cardstock and it contains information about the Laayoune 002 meteorite.

4) APOLLO PIN : This high quality enamel pin measures approx. one inch across and features the NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander.

5) INFO SHEET : Contains more information and data about the Laayoune 002 meteorite. (not shown).

The coin will be shipped to you inside the display case. You can remove and handle the coin if you wish.

Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara (27.070°N, 13.202°W)

Find: 2022 Jan

Classification: Lunar meteorite (feldspathic breccia)

History: Found near Laayoune, Morocco, in January 2022 and purchased from the finder by Aziz Habibi.

Physical characteristics: Both stones (3680 g, 1468 g) lack fusion crust and have a similar overall gray color with some whitish clasts visible.

Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Breccia composed of mineral clasts of anorthite, olivine, orthopyroxene, pigeonite and augite plus accessory ilmenite, chromite (with variable Ti content) and minor secondary barite.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa46.3-46.7, FeO/MnO = 94-98, N = 4), orthopyroxene (Fs33.5Wo3.8, FeO/MnO = 57), pigeonite (Fs36.9-45.1Wo6.5-8.4, FeO/MnO = 57-64, N = 3), augite (Fs19.1-20.9Wo39.1-39.7, FeO/MnO = 53-54, N = 2), anorthite (An96.1-97.7Or0.3-0.1, N = 3).

Classification: Lunar (feldspathic breccia).
