QSI has introduced the 700 Series, featuring advanced back-illuminated CMOS sensors with 16-bit digitization, 90% QE, and 120 million pixels per second readout over USB3. The series retained QSI’s integrated design, precise filter wheels, anti-reflective coated windows, and efficient 2-stage Peltier cooling.

QSI has introduced the new 700 Series cameras, showcasing top-tier CMOS sensors, superior electronics, and an integrated design, all crafted in Europe. For nearly 20 years, QSI has been synonymous with cameras for astronomers. In 2024, they unveiled the 700 Series, featuring advanced back-illuminated CMOS sensors with native 16-bit digitization. These sensors offer an impressive 90% QE and a rapid readout speed of 120 million pixels per second over USB3, a performance that was once unimaginable. The 700 Series retains QSI's hallmark integrated design, meticulous attention to detail, and dependable reliability.

QSI 700 series overview

In the design of the 700 series, QSI has incorporated their most advanced technology. The filter wheels are mechanically indexed for precise positioning, ensuring perfect flat fields. The dew-resistant fused silica window has high transmission anti-reflective coatings on both sides to minimize halos. These cameras also utilize a highly efficient 2-stage Peltier cooler that consumes less power while providing superior cooling compared to some other cameras.

The QSI 760 is our flagship product. The full frame IMX455 is widely regarded as the premium sensor for astronomers. The integrated 2”/50mm filter wheel minimises back focus, essential for the widest compatibility with focal reducers. Cable clutter is reduced thanks to the integrated filter wheel, 2 USB2 in sockets and power out. Power sockets have threaded connections for maximum reliability.

The QSI 726 is the optimum camera for most amateur telescopes. The 28mm diagonal IMX571 maximises the sharpest parts of a telescope’s image and is less affected by coma and vignetting than larger sensors. As with its bigger brother the 760, cable clutter is reduced thanks to the integrated filter wheel (36mm), 2 USB2 in sockets and power out. Power sockets have threaded connections for maximum reliability.
