Astronomer Russ Milton captured a stunning photo of comet C/2023 A3 over the Pacific Ocean. Taken from the Oregon Coast Range Mountains using a Sony NEX-7 and a fixed tripod, the image highlights Milton's ability to achieve a clear shot despite satellite trails.
Amateur astronomer Russ Milton, who's been honing his skills since 1962, captured this stunning image of C/2023 A3 under Bortle-5 skies. Using a fixed tripod and his trusty Sony NEX-7, he framed the comet from the Oregon Coast Range at an elevation of 2100 feet.

I didn't use a tracker, but it was on fixed tripod. The photo did use a barn-door tracker.
Here's a recent shot from the Oregon Coast Range Mountains, ~2100 ft. elevation (640 meters), using a Sony NEX-7, ISO 800, 8 seconds with Sony 35mm f/1.8 @ f/2.2, fixed tripod. I cloned out some of the many satellite trails.
