Pavle Gartner, also known as DeepSkyDad, grew up in a small village in the northwest of Slovenia as the middle child in a family of seven, with three older and three younger siblings. His education began in a nearby city, where he attended primary school before moving on to high school in Kranj. Driven by a strong passion for technology, he later pursued a degree in computer science in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was during his university years that he met his future wife, and together they navigated both academic and personal milestones. After completing their studies, the couple married, moved in together, and eventually welcomed two children. Throughout his life, Pavle maintained a deep interest in amateur astronomy. Many nights were spent scanning the skies with binoculars alongside his two brothers, reading astronomy books, and gradually acquiring telescopes to delve deeper into the wonders of the universe. Professionally, he spent 12 years working in the IT sector, where he met Jernej Hostar, who would later become his business partner. In the final years of that job, Pavle and Jernej began devoting increasing amounts of time to DeepSkyDad, a project that started as a shared hobby and evolved into something much more significant. Around two years ago, the two made the leap to focus on DeepSkyDad full-time, transforming their passion for astronomy and technology into a thriving business.
