The Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars feature upgraded lenses designed to enhance the viewing experience. With Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass, fully multi-coated optics, and BaK-4 prisms, these binoculars provide sharper, brighter images. Ideal for astronomy and long-distance viewing.

Large lenses are crucial in astronomical binoculars. The Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are designed for amateur astronomers. These binoculars include advanced optics, coatings, internal components. With large objective lenses, BaK-4 prisms, ED glass, and fully multi-coated optics using Celestron’s XLT coating technology, the SkyMaster Pro ED aims to provide a high standard of viewing for stargazing.

Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass in these binoculars reduces chromatic aberration, or color fringing, which is common in magnified optical systems. The SkyMaster Pro ED is intended to deliver edge-to-edge sharpness with improved color correction and clear images.
Celestron’s ED glass is designed to deliver brighter, sharper images than non-ED binoculars, with a noticeable difference in low-light conditions.

Celestron’s XLT optical coating technology

All lens surfaces of the Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are fully multi-coated and feature Celestron’s XLT optical coating technology. These coatings reduce reflectivity, enhancing optical throughput across a wide range of the visible light spectrum. The prisms inside the binoculars are made of BaK-4 glass, which further increases light transmission. Together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms aim to deliver more light from the target to the eye for brighter and more detailed views.

70mm objective lenses

70mm objective lenses

The 70mm objective lenses provide ample light-gathering capability for improved low-light performance. The objective diameter-to-magnification ratio is suitable for scanning the skies, observing the Moon and planets, and exploring deep-sky objects. The SkyMaster Pro ED is also well-suited for long-distance land-based viewing, especially at dawn or dusk.

The SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars armor

The SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are protected by custom-designed rubber armor and a durable chassis, offering protection without adding excessive weight. The binoculars are designed to be comfortable for both eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to retractable eyecups and nearly 16mm of eye relief. Eyeglass wearers can twist the eyecups down to see the entire field of view while wearing glasses, while non-eyeglass wearers can use the eyecups to position their eyes at the correct distance for optimal viewing.

SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are tripod adaptable

SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are tripod-adaptable

The Celestron SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars are tripod-adaptable. A binocular tripod adapter (not included) can be used to mount them on any standard photographic tripod or monopod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece).

The eyepieces of the SkyMaster Pro ED are threaded to accept standard 1.25” astronomical eyepiece filters. Using the right filter can enhance views for both terrestrial and celestial observing. For terrestrial observation, filters can reduce the brightness of sand, snow, and water. For nighttime viewing, filters can reduce glare, minimize eye strain, increase contrast, and help combat the effects of light pollution. Note that two filters are needed for the binoculars.

Pair the SkyMaster Pro ED binoculars with a smartphone adapter to capture images and video through the eyepiece, allowing you to share your discoveries with friends and family.
