What to expect for Star Stuff 2024

Experience a full day of exclusive, incredible talks from our exceptional lineup of speakers. These presentations, focused on space and astronomy, are among the most enlightening you'll encounter. The speakers enjoy engaging with the audience, and at this intimate event, you might even get the chance to meet them personally. Authors will also be available for book signings!

On-site astronomy & book store

Explore a range of astronomy equipment available for sale and demonstration, including exciting new products for 2024, brought to you by Bintel and our fantastic sponsors. The Book Room will feature a variety of science and astronomy books, with opportunities to meet the authors and get your books signed. If you're considering diving into this hobby, this is a perfect chance to speak with brands, vendors, and experienced users of astronomy equipment.

Meteorites for sale

For the first time at Star Stuff, view and purchase a collection of meteorites from Naren King’s personal acquisitions, certified by the Crystal Castle – Byron Bay. Owning a piece of a planet other than Earth is a unique and fascinating conversation starter!

Your Space Ruler (Ticket)

Each ticket serves as both a laser-cut artwork for entry proof and a functional space ruler. Calibrate it using the Moon by holding the ticket in front of you to measure up to 4 degrees for visual distance estimation. Invented by Dylan O’Donnell, this exclusive item is available only at Star Stuff!

The special gala dinner

VIP tickets are limited, but worth the extra cost for access to a luxurious gala dinner, featuring an additional presentation and high-end prizes from our sponsors. Enjoy an exquisite meal from one of Byron Bay's finest kitchens in an atmosphere reminiscent of a high-IQ celebrity wedding. Dress in your finest attire for an evening of extra luxury.

Day & night telescope astronomy

While not the main focus of the event due to weather dependency, there’s a good chance to observe the Sun, nebulas, clusters, galaxies, and stars through telescopes. Scheduled around the new moon during the typically dry Milky Way season, volunteers from the Southern Astronomical Society will be on-site to share live views of the cosmos. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we'll host a movie and beer night after dinner!
