The Apertura AD8 stands out with its Dobsonian base, also known as a rocker box, which distinguishes it from other types of Newtonian telescopes. This base supports the optical tube and allows for easy movement in both vertical and horizontal directions. The balance can be adjusted using large aluminum knobs to tighten or loosen as needed. The base features a "Lazy Susan" style design for smooth 360-degree horizontal rotation and sealed ball bearings for smooth altitude adjustment.
