Posted on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 by RUSS SCRITCHFIELD, Associate Editor

OpenLiveStacker, a live-stacking astrophotography app, has launched its beta version with new mount control capabilities and INDI support, now available for beta testing. After a month of focused development and evaluation of framework options for mount support, OpenLiveStacker now brings seamless mount control functionality to Android devices, including ported INDI server and telescope driver support.

OpenLiveStacker introduces mount controls with INDI support: Now seeking beta testers

The latest Android APK is available for download on GitHub, while Linux users can build the application with INDI installed to access the new mount client features.

The beta version of OpenLiveStacker includes:

  • Mount Controls: Slew, tracking, GOTO, manual sync, and alignment capabilities
  • Advanced Syncing: Plate-solving alignment and syncing with save and restore alignment options

Initial testing has been conducted on the Sky-Watcher AZ GTi mount. Currently, network controls are available on Android; serial port support is planned for future updates.

The OpenLiveStacker team invites the community to join as beta testers to help refine and optimize functionality across various mounts. A comprehensive manual for mount controls is also available on GitHub.

Call for Beta Testers: The OpenLiveStacker team encourages astronomy enthusiasts to participate in beta testing, providing valuable feedback to improve compatibility and performance.
