Analog Sky Heart binocular kit and video course preorders open

Posted on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

Preorders for Analog Sky's newest binocular telescope course and kit, 'Heart' are now available, offering free access to the video build course (normally priced at $149).

Analog Sky Heart preorders open, starting at $549.99

All preorders have upgraded optics: 99% dielectric-coated mirrors and 99.5% BBAR-coated, edge-blackened lenses.

The self-print kit includes an optics kit, aluminum frame, hardware kit (bolts, nuts, etc.), and extras kit (silicone, EVA foam, lens wipes, etc.). Users need to add their 3D-printed parts, eyepieces, and a tripod.

The full kit includes everything mentioned plus all the 3D-printed parts.

Heart is a video course and kit designed to guide users through building their own 80mm stargazing binoculars. Preordering Heart provides a kit, not a completed binocular. Preorders will be shipped in the order received. Course access will begin upon receiving the kit.

Watch the video below to explore the Analog Sky Heart Deep Dive, showcasing the next-generation 80mm binocular telescope course

About the 80mm binocular telescope

The Heart telescope's stacked over-under design positions the 80mm lenses close together, aligning with human eye spacing without the need for prisms. This design uses mirrors instead of prisms, making it more cost-effective and compatible with 2” eyepieces, which are not typically supported by even the most expensive prism-based binocular telescopes.

Heart supports an eye spacing range from 58mm to 78mm, accommodating a wide range of users, from young to old.

  • 2” Focusers: Provides wide, bright views with 100% illuminated 45mm field stop.
  • Universal Eyepiece Compatibility: Compatible with every eyepiece, regardless of focal point or undercut.
  • Quick Eyepiece Changes: 1.25” eyepiece adapters allow for fast and secure changes.
  • Efficient Filter Changes: Use 2” or 1.25” filter cartridges to enhance detail quickly.
  • Pure Darkness Micro Baffling: Microbaffling throughout the optical path ensures superior contrast, outperforming paint and flocking.
  • Ultralight Design: Weighs under 8 lbs (3.6 kg), making it one of the lightest 80mm binocular telescopes.
  • Multiple Mounting Options: Bottom-mount for fluid heads and side-mount for astro saddles.
  • Configurable Accessories: Accessory hardpoint grids for attaching any accessory.
  • Field Collimation: Easy adjustment of the view for any eyes or eyepieces with two merge knobs.
  • Field Optics Cleaning: Accessible objectives and diagonal mirrors with a single thumbscrew.
  • Premium Optical Coatings: Upgrade optics available for 99%+ light transmission.
  • Built-in Laser Pointer: Includes a safe <5mW green laser pointer for easy pointing.
  • Built-in Aperture Masks: Hinged lens caps feature built-in aperture masks for f/6, f/7, and f/8.
  • Constant Improvement: Download and print new components as tested and improved by the community.
  • Upgrade Anytime: Upgrade optics as they become available and fit your budget.
